How to Sell a Video on Files.fm

You can sell videos through a private link, your Files.fm public profile or an embedded gallery on your website. Start by uploading your video, setting a price and specifying how buyers may use it.

1. Sign in and find your video

1. Sign in to your Files.fm account.

2. Open My Files.

3. Navigate to the folder containing your video. If you haven’t uploaded it yet, upload it to your account first.

4. Click the video to open it.

Before offering a video for sale, make sure you have the rights and permissions needed to sell it.

2. Set the price and usage terms

1. Click the currency icon or select the option to set a price for the file.

2. Enter your desired price.

3. Specify the usage terms or licence. Explain what the buyer is permitted to do with the video.

4. Save your changes and check that the price and terms appear as intended.

The minimum price for a file is generally €1.00, unless otherwise specified for the product or sales process.

3. Choose how to offer your video

You can choose the approach that suits your audience:

• Share a private link: send the file or folder link directly to a customer.

• Publish on your profile: make the folder available through your Files.fm public profile.

• Embed on your website: use the embed code from the folder settings to add a product gallery to your site. Check the selling page for the plan and features available to you.

Before sharing, review the access settings and open the link to check what a buyer can see. Files.fm also offers a watch-only option for videos; check the available settings if you do not want to offer downloads.

4. Track sales and request a payout

Open File sales in your account to review transactions and your accumulated balance. To request a payout, provide the required recipient information and complete any requested verification.
